As the US State Department issues new international travel advisories, more AAA Washington customers will get their cruising fix on domestic waters this year.
- In April, 9% of AAA Washington’s cruise bookings were for US river sailings happening in 2021. That compares to 2% in April 2019.
- AAA Washington member, Jeri Pool traveled on the American Queen Steamboat Company’s first Mississippi River cruise since the pandemic started. Pool, who is an experienced traveler, says the steps taken to protect passengers made her feel safe without detracting from the experience.

- AAA Washington customers who are currently buying travel insurance are on average spending 46% more on policies in 2021 than in 2019. Much of that increase is due to travelers purchasing more expensive trips (up to 560%), compared to 2019.
