Denise Moriguchi Elected to AAA Washington’s Board of Trustees

Bellevue, Wash. – Denise Moriguchi, President and CEO of Uwajimaya, Inc., was recently elected to AAA Washington’s Board of Trustees. With her experience in strategy consulting and brand management, along with her leadership of the well-known, family-owned Asian specialty grocery retailer and wholesaler, Uwajimaya, Ms. Moriguchi brings a wide range of private sector expertise. AAA Washington is the preeminent provider of emergency roadside assistance, leisure travel services and personal-lines insurance products for more than one million members in Washington and northern Idaho.

Ms. Moriguchi stepped into the role of CEO at Uwajimaya in 2017 and represents the third generation of leadership, following in the footsteps of her grandfather, father and aunt. Before coming ‘home’ to Uwajimaya, Ms. Moriguchi worked for a strategy consulting firm in Boston and in brand management for a pharmaceutical company in New Jersey and Toronto. A Seattle native, Ms. Moriguchi currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Washington State Convention Center, is past board member of the Denise Louie Education Center, and is active with many other community and non-profit organizations. She holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and an undergraduate degree in Economics and Asian Studies from Bowdoin College.

The AAA Washington Board of Trustees and the Executive team are thrilled to welcome Ms. Moriguchi and feel strongly that her keen business sense and deep roots to the community will greatly contribute to the organization’s leadership.
